HMMPPHHH! The sad truth is landlords don't care about having bedbugs and won't pay to get rid of them!

the sad truth is nobody has the courage to tell the truth!

1)TENANTS are the people bringing in the bedbugs

2)TENANTS are accepting NO repsonsiblity for thier actions

3)Landlords are being given ALL the blame, ALL the costs and ALL the responsibility for a problem they did not cause and can not stop.

4)The problem can NOT be fixed until tenants get involved, accept some responsibility and work with and co-operate with landlords.

So you rent a unit to some students who bring in second hand furniture which as it turns out has bed bugs. They notify you, you bring in pros to tackle the problem and now you have to notify any new tenant that wants to rent any unit in your building FOR THE NEXT FIVE YEARS!
This is insane. May as well kiss your life savings goodbye. Even NY only limits the disclosure for 12 months.
And what about hotels, movie theatres, homeowners, etc?
Does OLA have press releases to send the papers for the LL side of the story? We have to be pro-active and get news coverage after the BB summit. This will be a HUGE issue as the pesticides that kill these pests for good is no longer available (again, thanks to our policiticans) and their spread through Ontario is startling.
