The McGuinty government is providing real protection for tenants by linking the rent increase guideline to the Ontario Consumer Price Index, which prevents routine rent increases above the rate of inflation, while ensuring landlords can recover increases in their costs," Jim Bradley, minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing, said in a statement.
This statement just proves that past due politicians do exist. This idiot from St Catherines should retire now. He has been around I believe since the late seventies which explains why he out to lunch!

There should be 2 levels of increase.

One for those tenants who pay their own utilities, and one for landlords who provide all inclusive rentals.

I know that gets difficult when you have splits between what is covered and what is not, but it is unfair to say it's low to help tenants with increasing utility costs, but that assumes ALL tenants pay their own, which is most definitely not true.
